You know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men? Well, I’m neither, but apparently that doesn’t put my plans in some form of quantum locking that prevents them from changing.
So my plans have changed! Somewhat. Bear with me. But don’t bare with me. I don’t know you that well.
First off, Morning Star. Waiting on the artist, but all other systems are go. Everything is in place, very excited about pushing that out. Nothing more to say, other than it’s close.
What’s changing is No Longer Human. It represents a colossal chunk of my time, effort and whatever the android equivalent of a heart and soul are.
I’m not publishing it.
It was a difficult decision, but one that has to be made, and here’s why: it doesn’t work. Simple as that. It’s a great story that I really, really like, but it’s not something I can take to a publisher and say, ‘This is where this story should start.’
The work isn’t going away, it’s going to sit on my computer, and my other computer, and more than one online storage location, until it’s ready. But that will be as the third or fourth book in a series, not the first. I already know what all those stories will be, just like I’ve always known what the stories after and around No Longer Human will be.
Here’s what I can tell you know: I’m working on a story that will be very sellable to a publisher, and one that I am really excited about writing. At this stage it’s a murder mystery set pretty close to modern times, featuring some very interesting and diverse characters.
Before that, I’m working on a prequel story that, when done, I’ll be putting up here, for free, for you. Unless it spirals out of control and becomes a whole book on its own, but I doubt that. Anyway, you’ll see when it’s done. It’ll be good. Trust me.
Oh yeah, and I can promise you part two of the ‘Omega’ storyline sometime in the next week, probably. So look forward to that.
When I’m home alone I just dance by myself.
And you pull my head so close,
Volume goes with the truth.

The kid was alright but it went to his head.
